Rhinestone Buckle, Diamante Buckle - Your Search Ends Here

Rhinestone buckles, or sometimes also called a diamante buckle or crystal buckle, are great accessories on your wedding favor boxes and wedding invitation cards. You can easily slide a piece of ribbon through a rhinestone buckle and then tie the ribbon onto your wedding favor boxes or stick it around your invitation card and it really makes a statement.

There is a wide variety of rhinestone buckles available in the market, from the really tiny ones to the really big ones. Each type, shape and size has their own purpose. The smaller rhinestone buckles measuring only 1 to 3 cm are more suitable for cards and favor boxes as they will not look too big compared to the card and boxes. Summer-Ray.com stocks a number of these smaller rhinestone buckles under our Diamante Rhinestone Buckle section.  The bigger ones are used on belts, clothing as well as acting as sash pins for chair sashes.

A rhinestone buckle is made from a rhinestone trim like the one shown on the right here. Each holder of the rhinestone is welded together to form the required shape of the rhinestone buckle. A rhinestone trim is very flexible so it can be shaped into a square buckle, an oval buckle or a heart-shaped buckle. After the rhinestone holders have been welded together to the required buckle shape, the central bar of the buckle is finally welded to complete the buckle.

As there are rhinestone trims of different rhinestone sizes, a rhinestone buckle can also be made from rhinestone trim of different rhinestone sizes. When one is buying a rhinestone buckle, not only the overall size of the buckle and the grade of the rhinestone need to be noted. The size of the rhinestones should also be taken into account.

Generally, a rhinestone trim with larger rhinestones are more suitable for larger buckles. However sometimes rhinestone trim of different sizes are used to make a rhinestone buckle of the same overall dimensions. This results in fewer rhinestone per buckle when larger rhinestones are use. Depending on the taste of its user, some like larger rhinestones while others like more rhinestones on their buckles.

As an example of showing how a rhinestone buckle is used, I have used a rhinestone buckle to set the grosgrain ribbons that is tying the gift box in place as shown in the picture on the right. Usually, a ribbon that is just as wide, or slightly wider than the central bar of the buckle is used. To demonstrate some creativity, two thinner ribbons pass through the buckle. As the ribbons are narrower that the central bar, the two ribbons can be positioned to be going perpendicular to each other. The two ribbons fix the rhinestone buckle in place and the rhinestone buckle set the two ribbons together in return.

This decorative method can apply equally well on invitation cards. You are welcome to share your ideas of how you use your rhinestone buckle with us.
